The position requires a high degree of technical knowledge, together with qualifications and experience in spatial data management, spatial analysis, and cartographic presentation. A knowledge of infrastructure concepts, linear utility planning and data (including remotely-sensed imagery) is regarded as essential in the role, as is the understanding of CAD systems and relevant data formats.
You will regularly deal with staff from other disciplines and business lines, with the person in the role needing to possess very good communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
The Senior GIS Analyst & Spatial Systems Specialist role is one that exists within a fast-paced environment of increasingly complex technological change, and this position requires a commitment to keeping up with developments within the geospatial industry, and the pursuit of knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
You will have 5plus years experience within the geospatial industry (ideally in the private sector) and a strong knowledge and demonstrated recent experience in the use of the ESRI suite of software, including including Geodatabases, Geoprocessing Tools and Extensions.
Experience with programming and scripting within a spatial systems / GIS environment, including but not limited to Visual Basic, C++, Python, JavaScript, Flex, Silverlight, SQL
Keen client focus, service ethic, and the ability to build, grow and nurture client relationships
Ability to share technical knowledge with peers, and active involvement in knowledge transfer to other team members
